During the last fifteen years, the service contract industry has substantially evolved, both in the terms of industry participation and government regulation. In light of our firm’s extensive insurance and general regulatory background, we have the experience and history necessary to assist national service contract programs achieve and maintain regulatory compliance.
In addition to serving as the general counsel to both the Service Contract Industry Council and the Florida Service Agreement Association, we represent numerous companies with regard to service contract specific regulatory matters. We have aided companies in securing service contract license or registration approval in all states, where applicable, and have prepared detailed regulatory compliance action plans to assist companies in identifying and understanding the current laws and regulations applicable to this constantly changing industry.
The services we provide our service contract clients vary from a brief understanding of existing state regulations applicable to this industry to a full-scale compliance program including state licensure or registration and an analysis of all service contract-related materials, including form review and filing and administration contracts. Additionally, through our representation of past and existing firm clients, we have established contacts with the staff of each state agency charged with regulating this industry, which have proven invaluable in securing regulatory positions or resolving outstanding regulatory issues.
